Tennessee Valley Fair Foundation Announces Dwight Kessel Scholarship Recipients
Knoxville, Tenn. (July 18, 2024) – The Tennessee Valley Fair Foundation is thrilled to announce Lilah von Gruenigen and Mason Valentine as the 2024 recipients of the Dwight Kessel Leadership Scholarship. Lilah, hailing from Powell, will be attending Sewanee: The University of the South, while Mason from Seymour is set to begin his studies at Johns Hopkins University Peabody Institute.
The Dwight Kessel Leadership Scholarship, a one-time $1,000 award, is presented annually to a graduating senior from East Tennessee. This scholarship is funded by the Tennessee Valley Fair Foundation and is made possible thanks to the generous contributions of many individuals and companies who support the Foundation. Named in honor of longtime Tennessee Valley Fair board member Dwight Kessel, the scholarship recognizes exceptional leadership and community involvement.
Established in 2018, the Tennessee Valley Fair Foundation's mission is to preserve East Tennessee’s heritage by promoting agricultural awareness, supporting educational programs, and cultivating youth development. The Foundation generates funds for scholarships, educates youth on the importance of agriculture, and gives back to the community in numerous meaningful ways.
